When Tinku Chechi asked if I could create an inner cover for the souvenir of the Kerala IPS State Conference, which focused on AI based psychiatry, the first images that came to mind were the glistening lights of electric circuits and the swirling turbulence of Van Gogh's skies.
I set out to draw an image that contrasted these two approaches—structured circuitry lines on one side, mirroring the bright swirling stars and turbulent skies on the other. The AI section came together quickly, completed in under an hour. In contrast, the human side, composed of tiny brush strokes like a dot painting, took much longer—about fifteen hours to complete. Once the picture was done, a poem to accompany it naturally evolved.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the painting was chosen as the background for all the participation certificates. Gratitude to the organizers, especially Dr. Tinku, the editor, for giving me this opportunity. Sharing the accompanying poem below:
In a moment, a mind was scanned, networks mapped,
Each neuron, synapse, and node meticulously decoded.
The diagnosis was swift and precise, a marvel of science,
The prescription, personalized and flawless.
Yet, can an algorithm decode turbulent dreams,
Or quantify the depths of one's inner gleams and shadows?
Can it chart the realms where the true self resides,
Encapsulate the mysteries of the mind in mere bytes?
